Silky Misra joined Chhaya as a Housing Counselor specializing in Energy Efficiency. In this role, she will be working towards retrofitting buildings to improve their energy efficiency. Prior to working at Chhaya, she worked with a real estate firm in New York City. She has also worked with the Department of Economic and Social Affairs at United Nations and was a part of their e-Government initiative for 2014. Silky completed her Masters in Urban Planning from State University of New York at Buffalo. She has a Bachelors degree in Architecture from India and is a registered Architect there. Her experience in the field of architecture encompasses township planning, residential, commercial and institutional design as well as redevelopment projects. She is fluent in Bengali, Hindi and Gujarati.
