In her role, she manages communications collaterals, executes special events, and supports the work of the Executive Director and programmatic staff. Formerly the Administrative Editor for the Journal of Human Development and Capabilities (JHDC), a multidisciplinary journal that aims to bridge the gap between human development practitioners and academics, she had the privilege of observing and managing the publication of intellectual work from leading thinkers from around the globe. By extension, she was an outreach consultant for the Human Development Report Office of the United Nations Development Programme. In NYC, Kay worked as a research assistant for investigative reporter Wayne Barrett, late journalist and senior editor at the Village Voice, for his book, Grand Illusion: The Untold Story of Rudy Giuliani and 9/11 (Harper Collins, 2006). She studied in the Graduate Program for International Affairs at The New School, with a focus on development, cities and urbanization. Kay lives in Jackson Heights with her husband and son, and is an avid guerrilla gardener.
