Architect of Change Reception Thursday, October 16, 2008 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM The Puck Building
Please join Chhaya CDC at our annual Architects of Change. As in years past, Chhaya will bring together our friends and supporters to recognize individuals who have made outstanding contributions toward the advancement of social justice, immigrant rights and community development.
This year, we are extremely pleased to recognize Suketu Mehta, Professor of Journalism at New York University and author of Maximum City: Bombay Lost and Found. Through his journalistic work in influential publications such as The New Yorker and The New York Times, Mr. Mehta documents and informs the broader public about the immigrant experience. In addition, we are extremely pleased to recognize the tireless and critical work of Carl Peterson, Queens Borough Coordinator of the Citywide Task Force on Housing Court. Mr. Peterson has been a leader in New York City’s housing movement for many years – informing thousands of individuals and families of their rights and building a stronger housing rights movement among advocates in Queens.
